About the Firm

Based in Irvine, the Law Offices of Colin S. Rushovich services clients in employment law matters throughout Southern California.  We routinely represent individuals in a variety of employment matters including discrimination, retaliation, harassment, wrongful termination, and wage-and-hour litigation.  We bring knowledge, experience, and dedication to every matter for which we are engaged and take the time and care necessary to achieve the best results for our clients. We routinely take matters on contingency.  We only get paid when you get paid.

Harassment and Discrimination

Harassment, often but not always based on sex, arises when an employee is subject to a hostile work environment because of his membership in a protected category like sex, age, or disability.  Discrimination occurs when an employee is treated unfairly because of that employee’s gender, race, sexual orientation, or other protected category.

Retaliation

Retaliation occurs when an employee has made a protected disclosure or engages in some form of protected activity and consequently experiences negative repercussions in his workplace. Examples of protected disclosures or activities include complaining about illegal activity by the employer or testifying in a coworker’s allegation of discrimination.

Wage and Hour Litigation

Wage-and-hour claims result when employers violate minimum wage laws or fail to compensate employees for legitimate and documented overtime work. Claims for unpaid wages typically result in recovery of the lost wages along with statutory penalties.

Wrongful Termination

Wrongful termination  occurs when an employee is termininated  in violation of a specific public policy.  Public policies are found in laws and statutes.  For example there is a public policy against discrimination in employment on the basis of a the employee being in a protected category.  Violation of this policy may give rise to a wrongful termination claim.

Personalized & Compassionate Client-Focused Approach

We provide the best representation possible by treating every client like a close friend or a family member.  We always pride ourselves on spending the time to explain the risks and benefits of various courses of action and being available to discuss the issues that inevitably arise in the course of a legal dispute. We will approach your case with compassion and sympathy, since we are frequently consulted by those who believe they have been wronged.
